Healthcare Professionals
Let's face it. No one really likes to take injections with a
needle. Injex provides your patients with a safe, effective and
comfortable insulin delivery option without the use of a needle.
For some, Injex will make it easier to begin taking insulin. For
others, Injex may be a more convenient and comfortable way to
comply with their current insulin regimen. Either way, Injex helps
to make good diabetes care easier for you and your patient.
This section is designed to help answer your clinical questions about
Injex, provide instruction for proper use of Injex, examine the safety
benefits and future uses of Injex, and communicate prescription
information for starting your patients on Injex. If you would like to

Clinical Support
Injex is clinically proven to deliver commonly prescribed insulins
and other medications safely and just as effectively as needle
injections. Several clinical studies have been completed to qualify
the safety and efficacy of Injex. Here is a summary review of some
of the key studies completed at this time.
- Injex Clinical Study
A comparison of Jet Injection to Needle Syringe
- Retention of Structural / Potency Characteristics of Insulin
Ten years ago, many thought high-pressure jet injectors damaged the
molecular structure of insulin - decreasing its potency. Not true
with Injex. Injex was tested with a wide variety of commonly used
insulins from two major manufacturers. The retention/potency study
shows no loss in insulin potency after injection with Injex as
compared to a control and a standard syringe. More...
- Pharmacokinetics of Fast Acting Insulin with INJEX when Compared to a Needle and Syringe
Another frequently discussed issue involves the pharmacokinetics of
drugs delivered with a needle-free injector. Endocrinologists Dr. Einhorn
and Dr. Block investigated the pharmacokinetics of fast acting insulin
with Injex and a standard syringe. The results of the study show no
statistical difference in the pharmacokinetics of fast acting insulin
delivered with Injex or injected with a standard syringe. More...
- Clinical Immunogenicity of Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Vaccine
This study investigated the effectiveness of Injex in delivering the
MMR vaccine for immunity to the measles, mumps and rubella virus.
The results conclude that the Injex 30 Needle Free Injector can safely
and effectively deliver the MMR vaccine for immunity to the measles,
mumps and rubella virus. More...
